Tyson Fury sends fight contract to Anthony Joshua in attempt to finally settle rivalry

Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua could square off this summer with talks over a possible September showdown taking place.

The Gypsy King, who has had a long-running verbal feud with Joshua, has seen his team hold discussions with Eddie Hearn about a box office contest that would capture the boxing world.

George Warren and Hearn could still revive a deal that was close to being agreed last December. Fury is looking to fight this summer but was struggling to find an opponent, leading to talk of a fight with his compatriot, who last fought against Jermaine Franklin earlier this year.

Fury has confirmed on social media that a contract has been sent to Joshua's camp as he urged him to sign it. He said: "Few days ago i sent a draft contract to @anthonyjoshua for a fight in September @wembleystadium it's a fight that everyone wants to see including myself. Come on AJ let's give the world what they want to see."

Joshua had cooled this summer plans with his sights on Deontay Wilder later this year, but he could have his head turned by the prospect of a fight with Fury. Joshua has a lucrative offer on the table to fight the American in Saudi Arabia in December.

Fury has a mega-money offer to face the WBA, IBF and WBO title holder Oleksandr Usyk in the Middle East this winter - with the pair previously exchanging verbals on social media as they sought to agree on a undisputed fight.

Queensberry Promotions are now looking to make Fury against Joshua happen in an all-British showdown that the country has craved for years. They are ready to rival the Middle Eastern offer as they look to get the deal over the line.

After Joshua's unanimous victory in April he called on Fury to get a fight signed as he said on DAZN: "I try and provide for the fans, I know who the fans want - who do the fans want? They said Fury, yeah? The ball is in his court. I would be 100 per cent honoured to compete for the WBC Championship of the world.

"I stand here and say that proudly, that would be an honour. Wherever you are, if you are listening, you know my management, you know my promoter, we've had dialogue before so let's continue this and hopefully we can get this done sooner rather than later. We aren't getting any younger."
