Tyson Fury confirms boxing return against Derek Chisora with "new coach"

Tyson Fury has declared that he will be making his boxing comeback later this year against Derek Chisora in a trilogy bout.

The world heavyweight champion has already had one trilogy against Deontay Wilder, winning twice and drawing the other, and claims that he has been brought back to boxing by a desire to make more history by having another one with Chisora. He has also swapped trainers yet again, bringing in long-time pal and featherweight boxer Isaac Lowe to replace SugarHill Steward.

Fury had previously insisted that he would only return to the sport for £500million, unless Anthony Joshua were willing to fight him at Wembley Stadium for no purse, with the bout broadcast on free TV. But he has now pushed for a retirement fight with his long-time rival Chisora, with whom he shared a friendship until earlier this year.

Taking to social media to make the announcement, Fury told cousin and former world champion Andy Lee: "I've decided to come back to boxing because I can become the first heavyweight champion in history to have two trilogies; one with Deontay Wilder and the second one with Derek Chisora.

"I always said I'd fight Derek Chisora at the end of my career and here we are, breaking all records again and setting precedents. Why I've chosen Isaac Lowe as my trainer is that while I was with Peter [Fury], Isaac was there, while I was with Ben [Davison], Isaac was there and when I was with SugarHill he was always there.

"He gives me information, he knows me better than anybody on the planet and we're a great team. We've always been together and we're going to finish this out together. We've always worked very well together and here we are, about to take on a massive, massive event."

Lowe has lost his last two fights, and appears to be flirting with retirement after apparently taking up a new role in Fury's corner. He will likely be joined by Lee, who has cornered Fury before and is in Morecambe to help Joseph Parker train for his upcoming bout against Joe Joyce.

"I'm looking forward to it," Lowe said in the social media post. "It's a new challenge for me and I think because I've been with him all his career we can put something new together so I'm looking forward to it. It's a tough task but something to look forward to going forward."

Chisora's promoter Eddie Hearn has said that the Brit turned down a December fight offer from Fury's team due to the money not being there. But Fury has since been seen talking with 258 Management's David Ghansa, and in another Instagram story alongside Lowe claimed that he was going to show "the best version" of himself in his comeback.

Fury is known for saying one thing and doing another throughout his career, but has previously expressed interest in fighting Chisora again. The pair's friendship came to an abrupt end earlier this year when the hard-hitting heavyweight picked Dillian Whyte to dethrone his pal during a TalkSPORT interview prior to their April meeting at Wembley Stadium.
