Heavyweight champion Tyson Fury has challenged Jon Jones to a boxing fight after clashing with the UFC legend on social media.
A fight between Fury and Jones was first proposed by UFC commentator Joe Rogan, who backed Jones to walk out of a room if both men were locked in one together. Fury took offence to Rogan labelling Jones as "the baddest man on the planet" as he called the UFC commentator "bald-headed midget" and disagreed with his stance.
'The Gypsy King' has now told Jones that if he wants to fight it must be in a boxing ring, with the Brit seemingly admitting defeat if they would fight in a cage. "I see Jon Jones has piped up, Jon you're talking about me in the cage. I'm not a cage fighter mate I'm a boxer, the best boxer actually," Fury said on Instagram.

"If you want to come into a boxing ring and fight me, be my guest and let me know. You don't have to call anybody else, no dramas, nobody. You call me because it's a boxing fight and I'm the boss in this gym, me. You're a great fighter Jon, but you're no boxer that's for sure. All the best and good luck."
Jones is widely considered as the greatest MMA fighter of all-time with his only defeat in the cage coming over a decade ago when he was controversially disqualified for landing an illegal elbow. The two-weight champion responded to Fury's comments by challenging him to a fight in the octagon.
"Hey Tyson, it seems like Joe may have struck a nerve. I’ll admit there’s no one touching you in that ring right now, but let’s not let that confuse you with what would happen if you stepped foot in my cage," Jones wrote. "If you ever want to put some of those questions you got going on to rest, give Dana a call. I’ll help you out.
A fan then asked Jones for a prediction if he fought Fury in the octagon, to which he replied: "Round one". Jones is expected to defend his heavyweight title against former champion Stipe Miocic in November whilst Fury is hoping to return to action in the summer before a potential undisputed clash against Oleksandr Usyk.
