Tyson Fury almost breaks punch machine as he beats rival Anthony Joshua's score

Tyson Fury has outscored rival Anthony Joshua on a punch machine as he demonstrated his one-punch power.

Fury has remained quiet on his own social media channels since Friday night when he took a break to mourn the Queen's passing, and has yet to reply to Joshua accepting his fight offer. But he appeared in a video on his cousin and coach Andy Lee's Instagram story yesterday afternoon.

The world heavyweight champion can be seen in the video alongside top heavyweight Joe Parker, his brother John and chef Pressley as he prepares to punch the popular bar game. He walks through a raucous reception to land a big punch on the machine, scoring 993, which beats that machine's record of 991.

It's a considerable amount higher than the 848 that Joshua scored on a similar machine during an appearance on the Graham Norton Show in June of 2017. There are different types of machines with different calibrations, so it's not an accurate representation of power, but Fury could vey well be taking it as a psychological victory going into their nearly-signed December bout.

The British heavyweight duo have had a long-standing rivalry dating back to a sparring session over 12 years ago in an amateur gym, and appear to now be on the verge of agreeing a surprising fight date for this year. Joshua's side have accepted all the terms offered in a non-negotiable deal from Fury's team, and are now just awaiting a contract.

The bout will take place on December 3 at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, which is the only suitable UK venue given its retractable roof. Fury had floated the options of fighting at Wembley or Old Trafford in Manchester, but neither would be appropriate for a major boxing event in winter.

Fury had vowed to post a video every hour until Joshua agreed to a deal on Friday, but quickly stopped when news of Queen Elizabeth II's passing broke that evening. He has since not posted at all, but camp appears to be going well with Parker ahead of his clash against Joe Joyce next week.

However, the belief is that the deal could be as much as 90 per cent done, with contracts to be signed and a broadcast deal to work out. It is believed that DAZN and BT Sport in the UK will come to an agreement for a pay-per-view simulcast, given that both men having separate exclusive deals with the outlets.

The monetary split of purses is going to be 60-40 in favour of Fury, which is a generous offer from the champion who could have come in with a lowball offer in the region of 72-25. Instead, he has made a serious move to make the fight happen, and now could be just days away from making arguably the biggest fight of this millennium in British boxing.
