Tyrell Malacia has outlined Antony verdict amid Manchester United transfer interest

Manchester United's incoming signing Tyrell Malacia has already declared his respect for Ajax's Antony — who is a target of Erik ten Hag this summer.

Malacia was at Carrington on Monday to complete his medical before his permanent switch to United was formally announced on Tuesday afternoon. Before that unveiling, Malacia confirmed he had a 'good conversation' with Ten Hag before making the move.

Ten Hag is targeting several signings in a bid to bolster his United squad this summer. His former Ajax winger Antony is one of those players on his wish-list.

The Brazilian is a player who Malacia knows well from the Eredivisie and he has already explained the high esteem he holds for the forward in. Speaking to Ebonyst after Antony was sent off for a second yellow card, Malacia said: "I have a lot of respect for him, he for me.

"There are boys who go along with it, lose their heads, but that is of no use to you. If I lose my head, I really get a breakdown.

"I know that side of myself so I just have to stay cool." 22-year-old Antony has three years left on his current contract at Ajax.
