Manchester United left-back Tyrell Malacia has admitted that he is relieved his proposed move to Club Brugge last year fell through, despite being previously intent on completing the switch.
The Netherlands international, who turned 23 last month, wanted to join the Belgian outfit and was determined to get the deal over the line. However, the move collapsed, meaning he stayed at Feyenoord for an extra year.
He, of course, went from strength-to-strength for the Eredivisie outfit last season, resulting in United making a last-ditch move for his signature in June. The left-back was poised to join Lyon but the Reds made a late move to hijack his proposed move to the French club, signing him in a deal worth £14.6million.
