Tyreek Hill isn’t just a speedster who torches opposing defenders with ease week to week.
No, the Miami Dolphins star wideout is playing chess, not checkers, when it comes to using the Madden franchise.
As he explained on Thursday, he plays Madden the night before a game, and he checks out opposing defender ratings. “I scroll down and I see what their awareness is and their speed is, and their strength, and that’s how I get a good tell on them.”
That’s brilliant! Because of course Madden keeps up — within a range, of course — with player attributes. A guy with 80 speed isn’t going to be a player with 95 speed in real life, right? So Hill’s got something there:
Tyreek plays Madden instead of watching film on opposing cornerbacks…
Under 1300.5 (-125) Rec Yards ✍️🤔

Tyreek Hill said he plays Madden the night before an NFL game to get a sense for the cornerbacks he's going to face.
"I go to the EA rosters then I scroll down and see what their awareness is, their speed and their strength, and that’s how I get a good tell on them.”
