Typical household energy bills to be capped at £2,500

Energy bills for a typical household will be capped at £2,500 a year, the new Prime Minister has confirmed.

Liz Truss has this afternoon set out a raft of measures she says will help people and businesses with the soaring cost of energy.

She said a typical household bill for gas and electricity will be capped at £2,500, a reduction of around £1,000 on the projected hike expected next month.
