There was little reason to be happy about the Seattle Seahawks’ pitiful loss to the Carolina Panthers. It was their third defeat in the last four games, and the second time in the last three the team has surrendered over 200 yards rushing.
The Seahawks are in a tough spot right now, once again on the outside of the playoff picture looking in, with a challenging matchup against the 49ers looming large. But one area the 12’s can still hang their hat on with pride is with wide receiver Tyler Lockett.
On Sunday, Lockett set a franchise record by catching a touchdown reception in six consecutive games. Of course, what would a record setting touchdown be if it wasn’t dramatic, instant highlight reel material?

Lockett already moved his way up the Seahawks franchise leaderboards earlier this season, as he surpassed Doug Baldwin for second most touchdowns in team history. Lockett has 53 career touchdown receptions, and while he has a long ways to catch the illustrious Steve Largent and his 100 touchdowns, it’s going to be quite a while before any other Seahawk surpasses Lockett.
When asked what this record means for Lockett, he expressed nothing but humility.

When Lockett’s retirement day does eventually come, as he referenced, there’s little doubt he will be remembered as one of the great Seahawks. Perhaps even one of the best Seattle sports stars of all time as well.
