The Seahawks are living proof that there’s more than one way to find success as a wide receiver in the NFL. Tyler Lockett and DK Metcalf both post 1,000 yards a year and they do it with two completely different sets of attributes and skillsets. While Metcalf wins with his size, strength and athleticism, Lockett has to make do with precision and crafty route running.
All that being said, it never hurts to be taller than your opponent – and being Lockett’s size comes with having to develop a thick skin when competing at this level. During yesterday’s press conference Metcalf shared a joke at his expense. When asked about Lockett’s growth during his career with the Seahawks, Metcalf replied that he hasn’t grown since he’s been here.

This will be the fifth season that these two are leading the Seahawks receiver room together. So far they have never totaled less than 1,900 yards and 15 touchdowns between them in a single year.
