Tyler Adams to see specialist for hamstring injury in blow to Leeds United but Liam Cooper to return

Javi Gracia says Leeds United midfielder Tyler Adams will see a specialist after picking up a hamstring injury in training. The Whites midfielder will not link up with the United States national team and remain at Thorp Arch over the international break.

Gracia told reporters: "As you say, Tyler is injured and in this moment he's with a specialist and we'll see how long he's out of the team. We have other players.

"We know, all of us, that Tyler is a key players for us but we have to manage with the squad we have. We have other players ready for the next game.

"He is different to others. There is no one like Tyler because all the players are different with different features and skills they have but in this case we have other players ready as you can see in the last games we've played.

"For example, in the last game we started with Tyler and Marc [Roca], the game before we started with Tyler and Weston [McKennie]. We have other players and have others waiting for chances. Maybe this is the moment for them and I'm sure all of them are ready to compete at a hight level."

Liam Cooper was called up to the Scotland squad, despite not featuring for Leeds United since defeat to Nottingham Forest, although he was named on the bench in the defeat to Everton at Goodison Park.

When asked about his injury situation, Gracia revealed he was fully recovered and said: "Liam has been out of the team some time but now I think it's important that he's with the team because he can do many things on the pitch, but he's very important off the pitch. His personality can help us in this moment and I'm sure he's going to do it inside and outside of the pitch."

The Whites will still be without long-term absentees Adam Forshaw and Stuart Dallas who have missed a large part of the campaign. When asked about Dallas, Gracia said: "When I arrived there were some players like Stuart, like Adam Forshaw as well, out of the team.

"In this moment, they are the players who are working to recover in the best condition but they're working out of the team so I can't tell you more information about them. Of course, I want them to be ready as soon as possible but in this case I'm not sure the time they need to be back with the team."
