Tyler Adams' three best Leeds United performances after FFOTY award

Leeds United supporters have named Tyler Adams as the club's fans' footballer of the year despite having only joined the club in January. The USMNT captain pipped Rodrigo Moreno, Illan Meslier and Raphinha to the award after an impressive start to life since his summer move from RB Leipzig.

Adams has quickly established himself as a fan favourite at Elland Road thanks to his stellar performances in midfield, and this award is another example of how impressive he has been for the Whites. With that all said, here is a look at Adams' three best performances for Leeds so far.

Leeds 3-0 Chelsea

Adams had already shown signs in his first two matches for the club that he was going to be a shrewd piece of business, but this game helped really establish himself as an early fans favourite. The 23-year-old showed off an incredible engine in the win as his pressing was key to such an impressive win.

In terms of statistics, Adams completed 34 of his 41 passes, but it was his off the ball metrics that really stood out. Adams won six duels, four tackles and made three interceptions as he marked the likes of Mason Mount and Conor Gallagher out of the game.

Leeds 1-1 Everton

Another man of the match performance on home soil from Adams came just nine days later as Leeds were held to a 1-1 draw by Everton. It was a frustrating game for the Whites as Everton sat back for much of the game, but Adams was key to Leeds' dominance in possession.

Frank Lampard's side were happy to soak up pressure and hit Leeds on the counter attack, but Adams' ability to snuff out danger and pick up second balls allowed the Whites to stay on the front foot for large periods, particularly in the second half.

Liverpool 1-2 Leeds

But it was Leeds' memorable win at Liverpool in October that was arguably Adams' most impressive performance in a white shirt. Adams had been a doubt going into the game but showed no signs of any injury problems as he covered every blade of grass at Anfield.

As is always the case against Liverpool, Leeds were made to suffer for much of the game, but Adams' display in midfield - which saw him make 12 ball recoveries - eased some of the pressure on the backline. Fabinho has long been one of the world's best holding midfielders in recent seasons, but Adams was certainly the star of the show on this particular evening.
