Two women have been rushed to hospital after a car and a lorry were involved in a horror crash this morning.
The smash took place on the A70 near Ayr's Holmston roundabout just before 9am.
Two occupants of the car have been rushed to hopsital.
A 35-year-old woman was rushed Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow while a 32-year-old woman was taken by ambulance to University Hospital Crosshouse in Kilmarnock.
The extent of the injuries sustained by those involved has not been disclosed.
According to Inrix, the road remains closed in both directions.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Officers were called to reports of a crash involving a car and a lorry on the A70 near the Holmston Roundabout around 8.40am on Monday, October 24.
"A 35-year-old woman was taken by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow. A 32-year-old woman was taken by ambulance to University Hospital Crosshouse in Kilmarnock.
"The A70 remains closed between the Holmston Roundabout and the Coylton junction."
