Two puppies who were "left to die" in a pile of rubbish were rescued by the DSPCA this week.
The animal welfare charity received a call on Wednesday that the two tiny pooches - now named Pan and Crumb - were found in a box on a pile of rubbish. Sharing the heartbreaking story on social media, the DSPCA said the eight week old pups were "purposely placed there and left to die".
The duo were brought back to the shelter where they both tested positive for parvovirus. The contagious virus can be fatal for dogs especially puppies "so young and vulnerable".
