As Damian Lillard’s future with the Trail Blazers remains unclear, The Athletic’s Sam Amick reported Monday that there are two possible trades that could keep the All-Star point guard in Portland, although Amick notes that the moves are “unlikely.”
Raptors teammates Pascal Siakam and OG Anunoby are reportedly a hot commodity on the trade market, and Amick wrote that bringing the duo to Portland would “suffice” in order to keep Lillard around. However, Raptors president Masai Ujiri has been “rebuffing” any offers that come their way.
Amick also reported that Lillard’s “dream scenario” would include signing the Warriors’ Draymond Green and re-signing Jerami Grant.
It’s important to note that Lillard has not formally requested a trade despite various rumors that the seven-time All-Star could be dealt this offseason.
The Heat currently appear to be front-runners to acquire Lillard if Portland decides to trade the veteran star. Prior to last Thursday’s draft, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported that the Trail Blazers had turned down teams inquiring about a trade for Lillard.
It’s unclear where the team stands on Lillard’s status after it selected Scoot Henderson with the No. 3 pick in the draft. Henderson told reporters after being drafted that he hopes Lillard stays in Portland.
