Two people rushed to hospital after Audi overturns in Oldham town centre crash

Two people have been taken to hospital after a crash between two cars caused an Audi to flip on to its roof.

Emergency services rushed to Huddersfield Road, in Oldham, just before 2pm today (Saturday December 3) following the collision. Police, the ambulance service and fire crews from Oldham and Chadderton were all in attendance.

According to Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) two people suffered back and neck injuries in the collision and were taken to hospital by the North West Ambulance Service (NWAS).

“Shortly before 2pm on Saturday 3 December, firefighters were called out to a road traffic collision on Huddersfield Road, Oldham," a GMFRS spokesman said. "Two fire engines - from Oldham and Chadderton fire stations - attended the scene where two cars had collided, with one left on its roof in the middle of the highway.

"Two casualties, both suffering with back and neck injuries, have been taken to hospital by North West Ambulance Service. Crews were detained for ten minutes whilst they helped make the scene and vehicles safe.”

Greater Manchester Police (GMP) confirmed that one of the casualties was a woman but that her injuries are "not not thought to be life threatening".
