Two people rescued from speedboat after incident on Irish lake

Rescuers from the Lough Derg RNLI assisted two people after the speedboat they were travelling in encountered mechanical problems in warm weather on Saturday.

On Saturday afternoon, shortly after 4pm, Valentia Coast Guard requested Lough Derg RNLI lifeboat to launch to assist two people on a speedboat that had suffered damage.

It's understood one of the vessel's propellers was damaged and the boat was anchored three miles south of Terryglass Bay.
