Two people had to be cut out of a car after it flipped onto its side.
Merseyside Fire and Rescue were called to Virginia Street in Southport at 1pm today. Upon arrival, crews found a Volkswagen with the driver and passenger still inside the car.
Firefighters stabilised the vehicle and cut off the roof to allow paramedics to provide medical attention. It's not been confirmed how the car flipped onto its side and both people were taken to hospital for further assessment.

A spokesperson for Merseyside Fire & Rescue Service said: "Merseyside Fire & Rescue Service was called to Virginia Street, Southport, on Tuesday 10th January. Crews were alerted at 1.08pm and on the scene at 1.12pm. Two fire engines attended.
"On arrival crews found one vehicle on its side. Two people were still inside the vehicle. Firefighters stabilised the vehicle and removed the roof to allow paramedics to access and assess the people inside.
"Both people were then assisted from the vehicle by firefighters and handed into the care of paramedics before being taken to hospital for further assessment. The scene was handed over to police and fire crews left the scene at 1.56pm."
