Two people have been charged with attempted murder, months after a man was allegedly shot through a Brisbane unit's front door security screen.

Police said a 40-year-old man was taken to hospital with gunshot wounds to his hip and pelvis on July 29.

The man was shot through the security screen door of a Bowen Hills apartment about 3pm, police said.

A 53-year-old man and a 31-year-old woman - both from East Brisbane - were on Thursday charged with a string of offences including attempted murder and attempted armed robbery.

They were both due to face a Brisbane court on Friday.
