MUMBAI: Two persons—a technician and a supplier of raw materials to manufacture mephedrone drug—were the latest arrested on Saturday in the 133kg mephedrone worth Rs267 crores case that was busted by the Saki Naka police after raiding a remote location in Nashik's Shinde Gaon on October 5.
Police learned from the duo—Nashik-based supplier Shivaji Shinde (40) and technician Rohitkumar Chaudhary (31) from Delhi—that the unit was manufacturing the drugs since December 2022 from the unit that is owned by drug mafia Lalit Patil’s brother Bhushan Patil, the main accused in the case that was registered by the Saki Naka police who are waiting to get his custody from the Pune police. Bhushan Patil along with his associate was arrested on October 10 from Uttar Pradesh in a joint operation by the Pune police and the UP Special Task Force (STF) on October 10. Bhushan, who is in Pune police custody, will be completing his six days of custody on October 16.
