Both are now in police custody.

The M.E.N understands that the road was shut off near the junction with Empire Street.

Some police vehicles remain at the scene.

In a statement, a GMP spokesperson said: "Officers carried out a warrant at around 6.40am this morning (4 February 2022) on Cheetham Hill Road in Manchester and discovered a number of cannabis plants.

"Emergency services attended as a precaution after two males at the property were on the roof.

"Shortly afterwards, one male was arrested and the other was brought safely down and arrested.

"They were taken to custody and the road has been reopened.

"Enquiries are on-going."
