Two men rushed to hospital after pedestrian hit by van on Scots high street

Two men have been rushed to hospital after a pedestrian was hit by a van on a busy Scots high street.

Emergency services raced to the scene on High Street in Inverurie town centre at around 5.40pm on Friday January 28.

The Aberdeenshire road was cordoned off by Police Scotland with images on social media showing several of their vehicles lining the street.

Vehicles from the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) and Scottish Ambulance Service (SAS) were also seen at the location.

Police confirmed both the van driver and pedestrian were taken to hospital via ambulance following the collision.

A spokesperson for the force said: “We were called around 5.40pm on Friday, 28 January to a report of a crash involving a pedestrian and a van.

"Emergency services attended and the road was closed.

“Two men, the driver and the pedestrian, have been taken to hospital by the Scottish Ambulance Service.”

The SFRS have been contacted for comment.
