Two men arrested after £72,000 of heroin and cocaine seized from Scots property

Two men have been arrested after police seized an estimated £72,000 worth of heroin and cocaine in Aberdeenshire.

Cops raided a property on Clinton Drive in the Sandhaven area of Fraserburgh yesterday afternoon following a large police probe in the area.

Officers say heroin and crack cocaine were among the drugs seized from the home.

A five-figure sum of cash was also recovered by officers during the raid of the property.

Two men, aged 20 and 24, have been arrested in connection with alleged Class A drugs offences.

The pair, both from the Liverpool area, are due to appear at Aberdeen Sheriff Court today.

Detective Sergeant John Pirie, from Fraserburgh CID, thanked locals for their support of the police crackdown on organised crime in the area.

He insisted large-scale drug dealing was a priority for the force.

DS Pirie said: "This has been the culmination of a large-scale enquiry into organised crime in the Buchan Corner and we’d like to thank the community for their continued support.

“The supply of controlled drugs in the North East remains a police priority.

"We will take all steps to detect those involved in this type of criminality, in order to bring offenders to justice and to reduce the availability of illicit drugs in our local communities."
