Tragedy struck the Arab town of Majd al-Khrum in northern Israel on Friday when a barrage of rockets fired from Lebanese territory resulted in the death of two individuals. According to reports from the local hospital, a 22-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman succumbed to their injuries after being transported to the Galilee Medical Center in critical condition.
The Galilee Medical Center spokesperson, Gal Zeid, confirmed the fatalities and further stated that 25 other individuals were injured in the attack. Among the injured are two adults with shrapnel wounds and two children experiencing anxiety attacks, all currently receiving medical treatment at the hospital.
Hezbollah has claimed responsibility for the assault, citing an attack on the nearby Israeli town of Karmiel with a significant rocket barrage around the same time as the incident in Majd al-Krum. Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz condemned the attack, attributing it to Hezbollah and emphasizing the indiscriminate nature of the violence perpetrated by Iran's proxies.
This tragic event serves as a stark reminder of the ongoing tensions in the region and the devastating impact of such acts of violence on communities. The loss of lives in Majd al-Khrum has sent shockwaves through the area, prompting concerns about escalating hostilities and the need for diplomatic efforts to prevent further bloodshed.
