Two killed in Moscow after Ukraine bombards Russia with 1,000 drones

  • Ukrainian forces launched over 1,000 drones at Russia overnight, including hundreds targeted at Moscow in what officials termed the capital's largest attack to date.
  • Two people were killed and 20 others wounded in the wider Moscow region, whilst an oil refinery and a residential building sustained damage.
  • The drone strikes coincided with the final day of Russia's three-day parliamentary elections.
  • Kyiv condemned the voting as illegal due to its inclusion of four illegally annexed Ukrainian regions.
  • Ukrainian authorities urged foreign governments to reject the election results and warned citizens that helping organise the vote carries criminal liability.
