Two injured in Redland crash that closed road and prompted huge 999 response

Two people were injured in a crash involving four vehicles in Redland today (Thursday, February 3).

The collision happened on Coldharbour Road at about 3.20pm, prompting a major emergency service response.

Police cars, ambulances and fire crews were pictured at the scene, and the fire service posted a message on Twitter at 4.29pm warning people to avoid the area.

Two people from two different vehicles were taken to hospital with injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing, and no pedestrians were hurt, police have now confirmed.

The road was closed between Upper Cranbrook Road and Linden Road and police said this evening that it will remain blocked "for some time" while vehicle recovery takes place.

A spokesperson for Avon and Somerset police said: "Emergency services were called to Coldharbour Road, Bristol, just after 3.20pm on Thursday 3 February following a collision.

"Four vehicles were involved and the road is closed between Upper Cranbrook Road and Linden Road.

"Two people from two different vehicles have gone to hospital with injuries not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing. No pedestrians have been hurt.

"Officers expect the road to be closed for some time while recovery is arranged.

"Anyone who witnessed the collision, or who has dashcam footage which could help, is asked to call 101, giving the reference 572 of Thursday 3 February."
