Owners of certain black and pink hair dryer brushes can now get a full refund, but only if they bought the right brand from the right seller. On Sept. 10, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced recalls of Wantefully and DHASUWT hair dryer brushes sold on Amazon because they lack an integrated immersion protection device, the safety part that cuts power if a plugged-in dryer falls into water.
Both recalled brushes carry the same packaging label, XRUI, with the model name XR-8801. That label also appeared on hair dryer brushes named in an Aug. 13 CPSC warning about products sold on Walmart.com and eBay, where the sellers did not respond to the agency's requests for a recall and no refund is available.
