MIAMI - For decades, María Elvira Salazar and Eliott Rodriguez delivered the news to South Florida viewers. Now the two veteran journalists will become the story as they compete for one of the country's most heavily Latino congressional districts in the November midterm elections.
Rodriguez won this week's Democratic primary in Florida's 27th Congressional District, advancing to face Salazar, the Republican incumbent who has represented the Miami-based seat since 2021.
