Federal regulators took two separate actions on the same day against squishy toys that conceal water beads inside them, a design that hides a known deadly hazard behind a product that looks nothing like the loose beads parents have been warned about.
On Sept. 3, 2026, the Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a recall of about 8,000 GIHNJSI Squeezy Dumplings sold on Amazon, and issued a separate warning about roughly 106 Ivyapingdianpu Squishy Bun toys also sold on Amazon. The products are close to identical: squishy balls holding glitter-like particles and water beads, with cartoon faces, packaged in a tan plastic container shaped like a bamboo steamer.
