Two earthquakes hit parts of North East

Two earthquakes of magnitude 3.5 and 3.8 hit parts of the North East region in a span of 30 minutes on January 17, National Center for Seismology said.

There was no immediate report of any loss of life or damage to property, officials said.

The first earthquake of magnitude 3.5 took place at 2.11 a.m. and the epicentre was in Cachar district of Assam, the NCS said.
