Two drug peddlers arrested

The Hebbal police arrested two drug peddlers and recovered 23 grams of MDMA and a bike from them. Acting on a tip-off that the duo was peddling drugs near the railway line in Nagenahalli, a police team conducted a surprise raid and arrested the two men - Hassan Sadiq, 35, from Bantwal, and Tallakhan, 22, from the city.

Hassan Sadiq is a notorious history-sheeter in Dakshina Kannada district and has been named as an accused in over 17 cases including attempt to murder, dacoity, robbery and other cases up to 2012. Later, he fled the district and moved to Bengaluru, claiming to have reformed, said the police. However, he reportedly became a drug addict. To finance his addiction, he began dealing in drugs, the police investigation revealed.

Tallakhan was trading in second-hand cars and had befriended Sadiq. The two got together and started peddling drugs, the police added.
