Officers were called to the B817 Shore Road between Alness and Invergordon around 6pm on Friday, August 23.

The crash involved a white Ford Kuga, red Ford Fiesta, white Hyundai and a silver Dacia Duster. Police want to locate the driver of the Ford Kuga, who left the scene of the crash.

The driver of the Ford Fiesta, a 49-year-old man, was taken to Raigmore Hospital before being transferred to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, where he remains in a serious condition.

The driver of the Hyundai, a 34-year-old man, was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary with serious injuries.

The road was closed for around 11 hours to allow for collision investigation to take place.

Sergeant David Miller said: "Our enquiries into this crash are ongoing and we are urging the driver of the Ford Kuga to contact us.

"We are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident and has not already spoken to us to please get in touch."
