South Coast police arrived at the scene about 15 kilometres north-west of Batemans Bay to find the two cars had collided.

Both drivers, two males aged 22 and 58, died at the scene.

There were no passengers in either vehicle. Police said the younger man was from Nelligen.

The Kings Highway reopened at about 7.30pm on Sunday.

A crime scene was established and an investigation into the incident is under way. A report will be prepared for the coroner.

As inquiries into the crash continue, anyone with dashcam footage or information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
