Two men have been accused of fatally stabbing a man in a "callous" attack after a body was found at an abandoned quarry in southeast Queensland.
Dominic Alaeddin, 19, and Jordan MacDonald, 22, have been charged with murder after Jai Gray's body was discovered north of Brisbane this week.
The two men arre accused of luring Mr Gray to a Glass House Mountains property before stabbing him multiple times.
The 25-year-old had been missing for more than a week before his body was discovered at the quarry near Mount Ngungun on Tuesday.
"This is a callous, brutal, unprovoked attack on a young person that posed no threats to anyone," Detective Inspector David Harbison told reporters on Wednesday.
"Police and Jai's relatives are struggling to comprehend the unjustified actions of those persons responsible."
Police said the three men were known to each other.
Det Insp Harbison said Mr Gray was a well-natured young man.
"This rocks the entire community," he said.
"He's a well-loved member of the community ... it's a senseless act."
Alaeddin and MacDonald have been charged with murder and interfering with a corpse.
Their matter was mentioned in Caboolture Magistrates Court on Wednesday and adjourned until Thursday.
