Two bodies found in Maharashtra's thane

THANE: Three days after a 17-year-old boy swept away in the nullah, his body was found on Saturday in Mumbra creek.

Official from the Regional Disaster Management of Thane Municipal corporation said that the deceased has been identified as Wasim Sayeed, a resident of MS compound Shilphata area.

"It is suspected that the boy, on Wednesday accidentally got into soaring nullah on the road side and swept away due to strong current,” said an official.

His body was recovered on Saturday evening at around 6 pm inside the creek shore beneath the new railway bridge at Rana Nagar area of Mumbra, added the official.

His body has been handed to police and sent for autopsy to Kalwa Hospital.

In an another incident body of an unidentified man was found in a transformer cabin of MSEDCL in Lokmanya nagar of Thane at 5 pm.

The official said the man in his 40-45 age group seems to be homeless and a social worker informed the control room of RDMC. A case of accidental death report has been registered and his body has been sent for autopsy.
