VISAKHAPATNAM: Police on Tuesday arrested two persons for shooting a man dead with a country-made gun on February 11. Inspector of Chintapalle, Srinivasa Rao, said the accused are relatives of the victim.
The arrested were identified as Sinderi Pentayya and Nageswara Rao. The duo shot Pongi Sumati alias Sumath dead at Boosibanda village in Kitumula panchayat in Chintapalle around 5 pm on February 11 and later fled the scene. The incident took place when the victim and his wife Rassu were returning home after attending a function in Pedabayulu mandal. Police said old rivalry was the main reason for the murder. The arrested will be produced before the court on Wednesday.
