The Eagles finally drafted a high-profile linebacker, they just waited until the third round.
Georgia standout Nakobe Dean slipped out of the first and second round of this weekend’s draft, but Howie Roseman was able to land an impact linebacker at pick No. 83 overall.
Dean, 21, reportedly had some medical issues — injuries to his pectoral muscle– entering the draft, but the retooled Eagles apparently felt comfortable with his medicals and value in the third round to add the dynamic linebacker to an ever-improving roster.
A consensus All-American in 2021, Dean is the Eagles’ highest-drafted linebacker since they took former Penn State linebacker Mychal Kendricks in the second round back in 2012.
Twitter reacted to everything and the social media app exploded when the popular Dean finally came off the board.
