Black Friday is made for deals, and the Miami Dolphins sure came away with a bargain as they routed the New York Jets 34-13 Friday afternoon at MetLife Stadium.
Tua Tagovailoa was surgical, although he did throw two interceptions. Nevertheless the remaining 21-of-30 for 243 yards and a touchdown isn’t that bad of a stat line.
Compare that to the Jets’ 159 yards of total offense. New York averaged 2.9 yards per play.
New York also entered another embarrassing play into Thanksgiving holiday lore. What could be more magical?
Twitter was full of takes and responses as the Dolphins doled out the punishment. Here are some of the best reactions.
19 seconds after the clock hit :00 the Dolphins scored a touchdown. This is FANTASTIC! https://t.co/dbde73DkHn

Never seen anything like this before. I’ve seen two Kick-6’s and “The Band Is On The Field”, but nothing quite like this. Wow. Jets were only down 4 headed to the last play of the first half, too, and then this…. https://t.co/jw1UeokawH

Nobody even ran hard, they all jogged assuming somebody else would make the tackle. https://t.co/GC3yzl3wyl

I think we see a game this season where al Michaels just gets up and leaves midgame

The Dolphins are paying Emmanuel Ogbah $15 million this year. They're going to need him to earn it down the stretch.

Referee Carl Paganelli is spitting blood after breaking up a fight. Jets DT Micheal Clemons and Dolphins OL Austin Jackson are ejected. Clemons' foul isn't offset because it was a foul against an official.https://t.co/Bj6qLH9Aul

Holland wasn't even touched by a #Jets defender. Missed tackles in order:
Newman — a diving attempt
Warren — halfhearted attempt
Tomlinson — blocked
Tippmann — no chance
Mitchell — diving
Boyle — faked to the ground
G. Wilson — arrives at goal line, too lateNote: Wilson…

Look at the bright side: At this rate, the #Jets historically poor red-zone efficiency won't sink any lower because there's little chance of them actually getting to the red zone.

This was always a 1 playoff win team https://t.co/2TUBVhTZeV

The Dolphins accomplished what the Buffalo Bills couldn’t this year – beat the Jets at MetLife.
Tua is still undefeated VS the NYJ.
WEIRD almost like there’s a difference between Tua and Skylar playing 🤔
8-3.
For the 7th straight week, happy to say again…1st place. Don’t…

Joe Douglas took over a team that was second in cap space and had the third overall pick. This is what it looks like in Year 5. He's 24-53. It's amazing he had the job going into last offseason and it's even more amazing that he still has his gig.

Nathaniel Hackett should be unemployed shortly, possibly Shaleh also , that was bad as it gets #Jets

I refuse to believe that Tim Boyle is the 65th-best quarterback in America.
There had to have been another option. It is inexcusable that we’re three months into the season and an NFL organization ended up here.
— Brett Kollmann (@BrettKollmann) November 24, 2023
I genuinely don’t think Tim Boyle is a top 100 QB in the world, I do not understand why he is starting NFL games by any circumstances https://t.co/EY5nIzFXkC

Tim Boyle sucked in college, too. pic.twitter.com/zgTZg2ATCn

With an average time to throw of 2.17 seconds, Tua Tagovailoa now has the two quickest times to throw in a game this season (2.08s, Week 2 vs NE).
Tagovailoa was pressured on 14.7% of his dropbacks, the 2nd-lowest rate he's faced in a game this season.#MIAvsNYJ | #FinsUp pic.twitter.com/7WpmJChmYL

The story of how mike mcdaniel met his wife is more entertaining than the actual game i'm not even kidding https://t.co/GDHQmt2JvJ

Mike McDaniel is the ultimate troll. Who comes out to kneel the game out but Mr. Whiteout himself, former Jets QB Mike White pic.twitter.com/aRITzemRQ5
