Twitch has announced big changes to make TwitchCon safer after a serious incident last year. Popular streamer Emiru was assaulted at the event when a fan grabbed her without permission. This caused a lot of concern about safety at Twitch’s biggest streamer convention. The company says it wants all creators and visitors to feel safe while meeting fans, streaming, or enjoying activities.
The new rules and upgrades will start at TwitchCon Rotterdam. Twitch’s CEO, Dan Clancy, said the company looked closely at what went wrong and is now improving security, event layout, and policies. Twitch wants to make sure everyone knows where they can be filmed, how to meet fans safely, and that boundaries are respected at all times.
