Panto dame Twink has backed Wild Youth to win the Eurovision song contest later this year.
The band were announced as the chosen act to represent Ireland a the semi-finals in Liverpool in May. Twink – also known as Adele Condron-King – said the band’s song We Are One is set to go far at the contest.
She wrote on her Facebook page: “Well well....I hope RTE makes some dosh this year because if the loolahs on the international selection panel for Eurovision have the brains to put that cracker of a song with that superb band Wild Youth through to the Eurovision.
“We are in danger ...!!! Because...after all these years me thinks we are in with a big huge shot of winning it again with that terrific U2/Coldplay feel piece of music ...(although they still distinctly maintain their own individual sound and style).”
She said that the outfit’s song, We Are One, is “an anthem for our times”. Twink added: “What a confident assured cool performance they gave and the theme, We Are One, is surely an anthem for our times.
“Very proud to stand over that entry. Fingers crossed now if that doesn’t get through there is no justice.”
