Best TV shows on TV tonight

Jane McDonald's Magical Morocco, 8 pm, Channel 5

In her final trip of the series, Jane McDonald’s destination is Marrakesh, where she’s booked into a beautiful riad, an oasis of calm in the bustling medina. On her to-do list is a walking tour with food stops (‘No, I can’t eat an eyeball!’), a trip by motorbike and sidecar to Koutoubia Mosque, some TLC in a hammam and a spot of haggling while shopping.

Jane ends her trip with a dune-buggy ride in the Agafay Desert and, of course, an accompanying rousing song. If you fancy a trip to Marrakesh, this episode is full of practical information about things such as tipping, booking tours and where not to shop. Jane’s most consistent advice to travellers? ‘Have a go!’

Guilt, 9 pm, BBC Two

Prepare for a white-knuckle ride in the last-ever episode of this superlative Scottish comedy drama. Max (Mark Bonnar) thinks he’s got things all figured out: he’s going to help detective Yvonne (Isaura Barbé-Brown) take down gangster Maggie Lynch (Phyllis Logan) while blackmailing bank boss Sir Jim Sturrock (Euan Macnaughton), ending up as a wealthy man whose enemies are all thoroughly neutered. He just needs brother Jake (Jamie Sives) to stick to the plan – but has he betrayed Jake one too many times? Enjoy this firecracker of a finale while it lasts. We’re going to miss this show very much.

Alexander Armstrong in Sri Lanka, 9 pm, Channel 5

The Pointless host explores a side of Sri Lanka that tourists don’t often see in his new tour around the paradise island. In this episode, Alexander tries durian fruit, helps disabled dogs take a dip in the ocean and shovels elephant poo that will be turned into paper. But the highlight is him taking part in his very own Sri Lankan-style exorcism, in which masked drummers and dancers ceremoniously try to expel his inner demons!

No Escape, Paramount Plus

Murderous secrets come to light in this thriller set amid the stunning turquoise seas of South East Asia. The seven-part drama series, based on the best-selling novel The Blue by Lucy Clarke, sees friends Lana (Tin Star’s Abigail Lawrie) and Kitty (The Outlaws’ Rhianne Barreto) on the run in the Philippines and taking refuge with strangers on board a yacht.

However, a flash-forward shows Lana being questioned by police when the yacht is discovered eerily empty floating off the coast of Australia. Tense, exciting and with a backdrop of exotic landscapes, it will pull you in straightaway, as you’re left wondering just what terrible event these girls are fleeing from and what’s happened on board.

Elizabeth Olsen cemented her reputation as a seriously talented actor in this smart drama about the unexpected effects of grief, first shown on Facebook Watch. It’s one of many US dramas that have been added to ITVX recently. She plays widow Leigh, who moves back in with her sparky mother Amy (a wonderful Janet McTeer) after the death of her husband Matt (Mamoudou Athie). As the two series progress, she attempts to deal with her difficult relationship with her sister, a growing attraction to her brother-in-law and the realisation that she didn’t know her partner at all.
