Best TV shows on TV tonight
Unforgotten, 9 pm, ITV1
We’ve loved every minute of this gripping series and as it reaches its finale, the grisly truths keep on coming. When a second body is discovered in a back garden with bullet holes through its skull, troubled restaurant owner Ebele Falade (played brilliantly by former Casualty star Martina Laird) is brought in for questioning.
Meanwhile, Lord Hume’s (Ian McElhinney) plan to flee unravels, his wife Emma (Hayley Mills) is left reeling when she’s confronted with his past and we discover what young Jay (Rhys Yates) saw on the fateful night his mother was killed. But the big question is: who pulled the trigger? Expect more exquisite twists as the suspects give their version of events.

You need a partner who has your back when you’re a copper in Belfast, and the father-son relationship between PC Gerry Cliff and the fresh-faced Tommy (Nathan Braniff) is one we’re really warming to. The old timer has taken a real shine to his sidekick, and Gerry’s experience is crucial when a bad batch of drugs from the McIntyre gang causes carnage.
Annie isn’t quite so lucky with the cowardly Jen, but she does have a fine mentor in PC Helen McNally and, after receiving a death threat, the young rookie will need all the support she can get.

Succession, 9pm, Sky Atlantic / Now TV
After being outmanoeuvred by their father at the end of the last series, the Roy children saw their chance to get their revenge on him when we picked up the tale last week. Yet will their hijacking of the Pierce Global Media deal with a $10billion offer be quite the coup they anticipate? With the sale of Waystar Royco fast approaching, one thing they have done is made Logan (Brian Cox) consider what a future without any chips in the media game might look like – and we’re not sure he fancies it that much!
