The Tony Blair Story

9pm, Channel 4
“Never lose your temper. Except on purpose.” Tony Blair’s advice on negotiation to his chief of staff Jonathan Powell is a neat insight into the man in general. This three-part deep dive shows Blair as a calculating communicator, but an insubstantial political thinker whose greatest achievements were founded upon being all things to all people. What fuelled his insistent will to power? From his constituency of Sedgefield to the horror of Iraq, this singular political journey is tracked but never quite explained. Phil Harrison

Fukushima: Days That Shocked the World

10.30pm, Channel 4
The tsunami that hit Japan in March 2011 triggered potentially an even greater catastrophe. As the waters inundated the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant, a meltdown looked possible. This two-part documentary remembers the crisis 15 years on, speaking to survivors and witnesses including Mure Dickie, the British writer who was one of the first journalists to report from the disaster zone. Bargain Holiday Secrets

8pm, Channel 4
While the cost of living crisis continues to spiral, many of us have become accustomed to enjoying foreign trips. Jasmine Harman presents this consumer series looking at holiday hacks. From city breaks to all-inclusive resorts, what can holiday industry insiders tell us about destinations which offer extra bang for a few less bucks? PH

The Summit

9pm, ITV1
More physical and psychological torment from New Zealand as the mountaineers – who have now been reduced from 14 to 11 – continue to plod upwards, dollar signs in their eyes. This time, there’s an elimination vote which sees another contender departing the game but leaves everyone watching their backs. PH

The Rookie

9pm, Sky Witness
Nolan and Bailey are in Prague for this season eight opener, but it’s not a romantic getaway. They’re supervising Monica Stevens, the rogue redhead lawyer who’s agreed to help take down a notorious arms trafficker, as part of her immunity agreement. It’s a tricky, inter-agency operation to oversee. Ellen E Jones

Storyville: The Darkest Web

10pm, BBC Four
“I have a library of that stuff in my head.” When “that stuff” is footage of men abusing children, you wonder about the toll taken by the work of police officers such as Greg Squire. This documentary following child sexual abuse prosecution units is inevitably bleak, but it’s gripping too as locations are uncovered and cases against the abusers are built. PH
