In this instalment of their adventures on the Welsh coastline, the couple work on two guest bedrooms, with their own adjoining courtyard and firepit – or “fire trench”, as they envisage it. While this dating show is culturally specific, its strength is in being universal – it engagingly captures the hopefulness and anxiety of dating. This time, one participant faces a friend-zoning. It’s fairly obvious why this has happened, but the matchmakers Hoda and Yasmin deal with the situation with their customary tact. PH
Storyville: André Is an Idiot

When André Ricciardi told his mother about his stage four cancer diagnosis, her reaction was to call him “a fucking idiot” for failing to have a colonoscopy earlier. This sets the tone for a film taking a refreshingly unsentimental attitude towards death. André is determined to die smiling and this makes his end-of-life story all the more moving. PH
