Bathroom ceilings and television screens were smashed in the concourse area of Anfield during the Merseyside Derby on Sunday.
Merseyside Police has confirmed officers are investigating an incident of criminal damage which took place inside Anfield Stadium on Sunday, April 24. Police confirmed the toilets and television screens in the concourse area of the stadium were vandalised after the Derby game between Liverpool FC and Everton FC.
Pictures widely circulated on social media showed significant damage to the bathrooms in the away end and a number of television screens smashed in the concourse. Images showed the ceilings above a section of urinals and monitors displaying food menus and Sky Sports News broadcasts were smashed.

Merseyside Police confirmed officers were liaising with Liverpool FC to obtain CCTV footage to identify the suspects. A spokesperson for Everton FC told the ECHO they were aware of the incident and would also be liaising with Liverpool FC and the police to help the investigation.
Merseyside Police yesterday released a statement in response to a number of incidents on Sunday evening. A spokesperson said: "We understand that some people are angry and upset at the behaviour of several groups of fans who attended the Merseyside Derby yesterday at Anfield.
"We want to reassure everyone affected by any of the incidents that we are actively investigating all reports of criminal behaviour and in relation to a fight between two groups on Anfield Road. We attended and both groups were dispersed. We are also aware of footage and images circling on social media of fans making offensive gestures during the game."
Officers rushed to Anfield Road following the match to disperse two groups of men who were reportedly fighting in the street and throwing chairs and bins. Another incident saw dog patrols deployed to Stanley Park following reports of a fight as people left Anfield Stadium. Two men reportedly bitten by a police dog refused hospital treatment and were talking to officers before leaving the park.
