TV presenter Angellica Bell shares her £1 beauty essential along with money saving tips

Boots have launched even more savings than ever before, for Advantage Card customers - with incredible savings including 10% off the own brand range, thousands of lines across health, beauty, suncare and baby products.

With the Boots own brand becoming increasingly popular, customers can now get their favourite own brand products, including Soltan, 17 and Boots Collagen, for less - with savings on over 1,000 well-known brands each month, and that Price Lock promise continues with prices frozen on over 400 essentials until August.

After catching up with Angellica Bell, Money Saving Expert and presenting legend, it’s no wonder that she’s the Boots Value Ambassador!

Sharing her passion for how she saves money, searches for the best bargain and bulk buys on those 3 for 2 offers Boots is known for - Angellica also shared her bargain Boots mascara buy that’s £4, or just £2.70 for Advantage Card holders!

When we grilled the TV presenter on her beauty tips on a budget, she said that we shouldn’t be afraid to “try own brand products”.

“I think that’s really important - be savvy and keep an eye out. Boots always have deals on big named brands too - like Fenty, MAC Cosmetics, Drunk Elephant, Anastasia Beverly Hills. Also if you’re going to buy a blusher, that could double up as an eye shadow.”

She went on to share her love for the 17. Extreme Extension Lengthening Mascara (£4 or £2.70 for Advantage Card holders!)

“Let’s just talk about that mascara! Sometimes it’s worth trying new brands out and giving them a go because you might be pleasantly surprised! Because we know Boots care about their consumer, that is why there’s this trust - they value their customer and they invest time in product development in making sure that they don’t want to put anything on the shelf that’s rubbish. Multi-functioning beauty products and lipsticks that can be blushers, buying own brands and also looking out for those deals.”

Talking about the changes Angellica has made to her own shopping habits, and keeping costs down, she said: “I have always been a deals gal, I love that win. I don’t care if it’s 50p or a £1. When I was younger, I had a paper round, worked in McDonald’s - I was hustling and working, it’s in me!”

“Being a freelancer, there are times in my career where I’ve had more work and times when I haven’t, so I’m always looking for that deal. And I’m not afraid to try own brands as well - I’ve worked on different shows where you go to the research lab and it’s the same ingredients in a flashy, more expensive brand.”

She goes on to say how much she’s here for a cheeky deal or two! "If there’s a deal for ‘3 for 2’, or ‘2 for 1’, I might get loads. Buy in bulk! If you see a product and you know you’re going to use it regularly, get a few more and store it. Find some space, and you’re going to save in the long run - and I do, do that.”

And who can resist stocking up on the basics like cotton wool balls, cotton pads and cotton buds at Boots?

Her favourite item though? “Maybe the 17. Extreme Extension Lengthening Mascara or the Boots Biodegradable Cucumber Cleansing Wipes (£1). After a show and I come back, I need those wipes! The suntan lotion [that Boots have] is also perfect for summer!”

The latest promotion from Boots also includes the Boots Everyday label, which was introduced last year to help customers find essential products easily, at the lowest prices - and it’s been so popular that Boots have even seen a 38% increase in sales.

You’ll be able to find 120 lines across toiletries, skincare, dental, haircare, vitamins and period products too.

Since its launch, customers have bought 2,500 items from the Boots Everyday label each hour. The lines are all priced from 50p to £2.50, and with the additional 10% discount, these essentials will be even more affordable for customers.

Angellica said that the Boots Everyday products were “great”. “When they launched it, I went in when I was working with the team and tried the shower gel, loads of other stuff and I couldn’t even tell the difference! If you’re in the shower and you're washing and it smells great and you’re clean - knowing that you’ve saved half the money on a normal brand… What’s there to complain about? I think it’s really good and they’ve invested a lot of time. And also they’re listening to their customers - they want those deals and they don’t want to compromise. With beauty, there’s a cost of living crisis but we still want to look and feel good” - we couldn’t agree more!

In addition, the Price Advantage will now expand to over 1,000 products, offering exclusive savings for Boots Advantage Card holders every month. Not to mention 10% off for students on most products, over 60s getting 8 Advantage Card points for every £1 spent on Boots Own Brand and selected exclusives, plus Boots Parenting Club members receive 8 Advantage Card points for every £1 spent on baby and also receive free gifts at key stages of your baby's development!

So far, over 6 million customers have taken advantage of Price Advantage promotions, saving over £36m.

We can’t be the only ones that save our points to splurge them all at Christmas, can we?
