TV host makes epic blunder live on-air as co-star wife forced to sternly correct him

An American television host made an epic blunder while hosting on-air, which then forced his co-star and wife to correct him.

LIVE with Kelly and Mark hosts Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos, who are also married, had an awkward moment on-air during the week, which probably left viewers cringing a little.

On Thursday, May 11, while hosting the popular morning show, the husband-and-wife duo almost had an on-air quarrel.

Kelly, 52, was forced to save her hubby Mark, also 52, from what could have been a very awkward mishap.

The episode saw Mark introduce a hopeful contestant who was participating in their Grow For It Spring Trivia segment - which sees viewers call in to answer a question with the hopes of winning a prize.

Introducing the hopeful player, Reba Coutermarsh, Mark pronounced her name wrong - just moments after getting it right the first time.

Reba was from North Pole in Alaska, the same place that Father Christmas resides, which led to Mark making a joke while getting the lady's name wrong.

Making the joke, Mark laughed a little as he said: "Rebecca say 'Hi' to Santa Clause for me," with him unaware he named the lady Rebecca and not Reba.

Kelly seemed a little annoyed at her hubby's blunder, with her scolding him and saying: "Reba, Reba," in rather a stern voice.

Mark then repeated the name twice to ensure he would get it right thereafter.

The couple met in 1995 before eloping the following year and staring their family a year after their marriage.

Mark and Kelly share three children: Michael Joseph (born June 2, 1997), Lola Grace (born June 16, 2001) and Joaquin Antonio (born February 24, 2003).

Although the couple have been married for more than a quarter of a century, they haven't always hosting LIVE together.

On February 16, 2023, Mark was announced as Ryan Seacrest's successor as co-host of the morning talk show.

LIVE, which was previously known as The Morning Show, is an American morning talk show, which was originally hosted by Regis Philbin and Cyndy Garvey in 1983.

With a string of different anchors, the show has seen success for many years, and prior to Mark hosting the show with wife Kelly, she previously co-hosted the show with aforementioned Regis, Michael Strahan, and Ryan Seacrest.

The format of the show has been replicated globally, with British television shows like This Morning and Today with Des and Mel.
