TV customers can get Sky and Netflix for free with new streaming offer

Sky is offering customers the chance to get its premium channels and Netflix completely free for one month in a trial for its latest set-top box.

The TV and broadband giant is giving away a free month of its Sky Entertainment package plus Netflix as part of either an 18-month contract or rolling 31-day plan. The promotional offer is part of the new Sky Stream box which launched last year, which swapped out the satellite dish to use broadband in order to stream all of your favourite movies and shows.

The Sky TV & Netflix package includes all Sky Originals and Sky Exclusives, plus over 100 other channels you won't find on Freeview including Sky Atlantic, Sky Documentaries and Sky Nature. You can also choose to personalise the bundle by adding the likes of Sky Sports, Sky Cinema or Sky Kids for an additional monthly cost.

Sky Stream also offers instant access to other popular streaming platforms including Amazon Prime Video, Disney+ and Apple TV. You will have to pay extra in order to access these services, but with the latest Sky deal you will be able to enjoy Netflix's huge library for one month free.

Netflix Basic is included in the subscription, which allows you to watch Netflix on one device - you can choose to pay an extra £4 a month to watch across two devices at the same time, or £8 for four devices. And if you already have Netflix but fancy getting those Sky channels for free, Sky can link up your existing Netflix plan to your Sky account to ensure you don't pay twice.

After the first free month, customers will pay £26 a month if they signed up for the 18-month contract. Or if you'd like more flexibility, you can opt for the 31-day rolling plan, which will see you pay £29 a month after the free trial with the option to cancel any time.

The promotion is ideal for those who want to try out Netflix without committing to a subscription, as the streaming giant no longer offers free trials in the UK, although subscribers do have the option to cancel any time. The cheapest you can get Netflix is its new lower subscription tier with adverts, which will set you back £4.99 a month - £6 cheaper than the standard version with no ads.
