The No. 4 Georgia Bulldogs play the No. 1 Texas Longhorns at 7:30 p.m. ET on Saturday, Oct. 19. The Georgia-Texas game will be televised on ABC.
The television commentators for the highly anticipated SEC game are Rece Davis (play-by-play), Kirk Herbstreit (analyst), Holly Rowe (sideline), and Katie George (sideline).
ESPN’s “College GameDay” is in town for the Georgia-Texas game. Austin, Texas, is also hosting a Formula 1 race from Oct. 18-20, so good luck finding a hotel room in the area.
Georgia football is 5-1 and is 3-1 in SEC play. Texas is 6-0 and 2-0 in SEC action.
Georgia is coming off an uneven 41-31 home win over Mississippi State where Georgia failed to close the door on one of the worst teams in the SEC.
Last week, Texas overwhelmed Oklahoma to pick a 34-3 win in the Red River Rivalry. Texas’ closest game all season was a 31-12 win at Michigan. The Longhorns have not allowed more than 13 points all season and are looking like the best team in the country.
“The most complete team that we’ve seen or faced this year and probably in multiple years when you look at what they’re doing defensively, offensively and special teams,” said Kirby Smart on facing an elite Texas team. “They are clearly one of the best teams in the country with what they do.”
Kirby Smart is 0-1 in his UGA career against Texas. Smart has won a pair of national championships since Georgia’s 28-21 loss to Texas in the 2019 Sugar Bowl.
