Sunday night’s performance by Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Justin Fields did nothing but muddy the waters about who should be the starting quarterback next week versus the Las Vegas Raiders. Fields made some big plays but ultimately couldn’t consistently move the football and with Russell Wilson waiting in the wings, every rep is crucial.
During the television broadcast, it really sounded like the Steelers are prepared to put Wilson into the starting lineup next week. They discussed the situation with Wilson and with head coach Mike Tomlin and it certainly sounded like this week would be the week when Wilson would be ready and the team could decide to sit Fields down after leading the team to a 3-2 record to start the season.
Sure seems like the Sunday Night Football broadcast was told that Russell Wilson is going to be the starter again for the #Steelers. This is about as verbally close as you can get without just saying that’s what you were told in production meetings with Mike Tomlin. 🎥: @SNFonNBC pic.twitter.com/cxQzH3Rovi

If the Steelers wanted to make a change at quarterback, now is the time. Pittsburgh is on a two-game losing streak and could use a spark on offense. Will that be enough for the team to make a change?
